If you’re trying to figure out how to get started with Amazon Associates, you’ve come to the right place. Here we will cover everything step by step to make it easier for you!
Who Can Join & What Is Amazon Associates?
Amazon Associates accepts affiliates from all over the world, it doesn’t matter where you are, you can become an affiliate today! You do need to have a valid website, blog, app, or promote the links on social media to begin.
Amazon is the largest online affiliate program currently. Once you sign up, you get your own custom links to promote it, once someone clicks your link and makes a purchase, you can earn between 1%-20% commission. You have 180 days from the time you sign up to have at least 3 qualified sales from your audience. Amazon will check your application after you have made the sales. Your site should be publicly available with at least 10 posts.
- If you have a website, your last content posted should not be older than 60 days.
- If you have an app, it should comply with Amazon’s policy requirements.
- Amazon accepts affiliate marketing on the following social networks, provided they are not private pages: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok & Twitch tv. Your page must also have a good amount of followers, over 500.
There are different Amazon regions store, so you would have to sign up to each one if you want to promote it in different regions, eg: amazon.co.uk or amazon.ae
How To Become An Amazon Associate
1. Sign up on the Amazon Associates website
You can sign up using this link. If you already have an Amazon account, you can use the same account to become an associate or create a new account.
2. Enter your account information
You will come to a page where Amazon requires basic details, like a contact person for payments, etc.
3. Enter your blog details (or website, social media)
You will need to add in your details for where you plan to promote your links, do make sure to put links directly to your page, you cannot just put instagram.com.You can add up to 50 sites.
4. Enter profile details
You can choose your preferred Amazon ID related to your website, or what you will be promoting. You can also add details about your sites so Amazon has an idea of what you will be promoting – you will not be restricted to this. On the same page, you can choose methods you will be using to promote the products as well as answer questions about site traffic.
5. Wait for approval
Approval should take 1 business day as it’s a quick process once all the information has been filled in.
6. Add payment details
When your Associates account has been approved, you can add in your payment details. Simply click on your profile at the top right corner, select account settings, and choose to change payment method, Amazon offers direct deposit, gift card, or cheque. If your country isn’t eligible for direct deposits, you can create a Payoneer account to accept USD bank deposits, it will work for any country. Payoneer is used to receive international payments and easily transfer those payments to your non US bank account. They give you access to international “receiving accounts”, so you will be provided with bank name, account number, branch code, etc. When setting up your affiliate account, you select the direct deposit option and use those banking details.
7. Receiving payments
Amazon pays commission 60 days after month end. They will send an email notifying you that payment has been made. A few days later, Payoneer will send and email to let you know that a payment was received into your Payineer account. Thereafter, you can initiate a withdrawal into your local bank account – you just have to select your currency, choose your bank and the amount you wish to withdraw. The money will take a few days to show up.
How To Start Promoting Once Approved
Once you find products you wish to promote, you have to generate affiliate links for those products. Amazon has made the process a bit easier now in 2023.

You can use the link on your site to start generating sales. Once people start purchasing, you earn a commission.
